Thierry Henry on the Collaboration
Thierry Henry shared his excitement about the collaboration: “My earliest memory of travelling abroad for sport was with the French national team in 1994, when we went to Faro in Portugal. I was thrilled to represent my country. Over the past three decades, I’ve travelled to countless destinations but never found suitcases that met all my needs. Creating this collection with Kabuto, a brand with French roots like mine, has been incredibly inspiring.
“We’ve integrated features that make travelling smoother and more enjoyable, whether you’re travelling solo or with family. The expandable carry-on allows you to take and bring back more, such as when shopping in New York or bringing gifts to relatives during the holidays, without needing to change the case. Our luggage adapts to your needs.
“Black is my favorite color – it’s timeless and goes with everything. I chose classic black for both pieces, with statement burgundy details, a beautiful and complementary tone. I also added a rotating clip on the carry-on to secure a hanger that doesn’t slide, perfect for carrying a suit safely. This addition is very personal to me.”
Kabuto’s products are designed with a creative and adventurous “Dare to Expand” spirit, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible so travellers will never be limited by their luggage again.
Travel Essentials: Thierry Henry’s Must-Have Items for Every Trip
Suits are essential because of work and events. I also love my trainers and T-shirts – I live in them. Tracksuits are a must, as are sunglasses and a cap. I never travel without a hoodie because my neck is sensitive to air conditioning on planes. I need to protect it, especially when I sleep. Unlike my partner who uses all sorts of lotions, I’m not into beauty products. My favorite items are a toothbrush and some moisturizer to keep my skin from drying out.
Exploring the World: Thierry Henry’s Favorite Travel Destinations
“I would say, Rio, where I’ve travelled twice. Unlike big towns, Rio has it all. Everyone in Brazil listens to samba, eats the same food, and shares a strong sense of community. Rio is always an eye-opener because very few places have such a connected community.”
Thierry Henry’s Early Travel Memories: From France to Italy
“One of my earliest memories of travelling abroad was playing for the French national team in Faro, Portugal. I must have been around 16, and it was exciting to represent my country. My career later took me to Monaco and Italy when I was 16 or 17.”
Family Travels: Thierry Henry’s Best Destinations for Family Holidays
“My four kids are lucky to travel extensively, something I couldn’t do as a child. My travel was limited to visiting friends in my neighbourhood. Occasionally, my mum took me to Paris, which I found beautiful. Now, my kids find destinations like the Maldives just “all right,” but I ensure they appreciate every trip. I love laid-back island holidays where we can connect as a family, running, reading, and enjoying nature.
When we go on family holidays, we’re usually dictated by the kids but often stay in hotels or rent villas. These moments make me appreciate how far I’ve come. Exploring different cultures and religions is very meaningful to me. One country I still wish to visit is Australia. During my football career, I never had the time due to the distance and jet lag. I’m proud of being French, but I call myself a Londoner.”
Thierry Henry’s passion for travel and innovative design is evident in his praise for the Kabuto suitcase and his thoughtful approach to exploring the world. Whether it’s the streets of Rio or a secluded island, Henry’s travel insights remind us of the joy and enrichment that come with discovering new places and cultures.
