Sloane Place: London Townhouse Luxury Hotel: There is something quintessentially English about staying in Chelsea. Everything feels, looks and breaths ‘London’. The brands that line the streets, the red buses that pass through, the Victorian boozers, the yummy mummy’s, the fashion – it’s a contemporary snapshot of 21st century city living.
Yet for those of us who don’t live the Sloane lifestyle the Sloane Place Hotel can give us a little idea of townhouse luxury living. While we might only be there for a place to call home for two nights it’s relaxing space morphs the classic with contemporary; where British style interiors create a homely atmosphere in which to unwind.
Our Chelsea Double room is the perfect size for our 48 hour stay. Plenty of space to relax with a good English cuppa while planning a day of shopping, and plenty of space for recuperating after getting 25,000 steps in exploring the city. The bathtub, with accompanying Molton Brown shower goodies, is definitely a welcome sight after all of that walking.
The Sloane Place Restaurant is a lovely place to relax especially, if you can grab a window seat. The slouchy sofas require a few cushions behind your back to prop you up if you are eating, but are great if you are enjoying one of the cocktails. The restaurant also offers up seasonal deals and a great selection of contemporary dishes to choose from.
If you are on the look out for classic style and design then you are absolutely in luck with Sloane Place, and it seems that our fellow American visitors (it’s the only other accent we hear in the restaurant at breakfast) are certainly in the mood for it. Whether you want a cosy winter break or are planning on sipping something chilled in the sun – it’s a destination that offers up a perfect place to call your base while taking in the sights of our beautiful capital city.
