PARESA RESORT PHUKET: A SANCTUARY OF LUXURY ON MILLIONAIRE’S MILE
Nestled atop the cliffs of Phuket’s famed Millionaire’s Mile, Paresa Resort, Phuket stands as a beacon of luxury, set against the backdrop of the Andaman Sea’s azure expanse. This exclusive retreat, where nature’s opulence meets refined simplicity, offers a sanctuary for discerning travellers seeking serenity in the lap of Thai luxury.
Design and Architecture: The Natural Elegance of Paresa Resort
The resort, with its earthy tones and minimalist design, blurs the lines between indoor comfort and natural outdoor beauty. Conceived by the Bangkok-based UKD Architects and inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s Organic Architecture philosophy, the buildings seamlessly blend with the cliffside, preserving ancient Banyan trees and local flora.
With its green and natural-coloured roofs integrating with the landscape, Paresa emphasises simplicity in luxury, focusing on privacy and subtle elegance for a peaceful retreat.
The multi-level complex leads guests down steep steps from the stunning gold mosaic tiled platform and the manicured, lush green ‘Miracle Lawn’ (a picturesque setting perfect for weddings), through the Michelin-awarded Talung Thai, the resort Villas and finally down to the infinity pool and spa.
Looking from the furthest spot at the bottom of the resort the Villas are hidden from view meaning that privacy is never an issue for guests who are there to indulge in some much-needed me/we time.
Luxury Villas at Paresa Resort: Privacy Meets Opulence
The resort features 42 individual villas with expansive windows, private infinity pools, and open-air showers. The Southern Thai architecture, through high pavilion ceilings and sustainable wood finishes, makes the villas both spacious and luxurious.
Off-white walls and large windows lead to terraces with stunning views of the Andaman Sea. Thai teak floors are combined with a mix of local and Chinese furnishings, Phuket batik decorations and unique artworks (such as the golden angels on black backgrounds, reflecting the resort’s ‘Heaven of all Heavens’ Hindu philosophy) to complete the design touches.
Comfort is paramount when it comes to sleep with king-size beds, soft linens, and feather pillows, while the bathroom’s elegant Italian tiles and open expanse mean bathing is done entirely with sea views and no one to overlook.
Gourmet Dining at Paresa Resort: A Culinary Journey
At the heart of Paresa is Talung Thai, its flagship restaurant that teeters on the cliff edge, melding breathtaking views with culinary excellence. With a focus on authenticity and the integrity of ingredients, the dishes here are a celebration of Thai and global cuisines, earning Talung Thai annual Michelin recognition from 2019 through 2023.
The resort’s diverse dining offerings ensure that every meal is an integral part of the Paresa journey, from the rich tapestry of Thai flavours to the vibrant Mediterranean palate.
Michelin-Recognised Dining at Talung Thai
We sampled the Klong Phai Farm Duck Breast Pad Krapow and Pla Kapong Neung Manao (Boneless Seabass) along with a favourite bottle of GranMonte wine. We skipped the starters as the main courses are a pretty generous size.
We suggest heading to Talung Thai just ahead of sunset for perfect Phuket views with a cocktail and for those looking to ramp up the romantic atmosphere, think about arranging a private dinner at the infinity pool, where staff will cater to you and your partner with a bespoke three-course meal. Surrounded by candles, under a star-filled sky, with the pool’s fibre optic lights adding a magical glow, and the green lights of local squid fishing boats twinkling on the horizon; it’s an unforgettable experience.
Beyond the Resort: Exploring Phuket with Paresa
Beyond the resort take a trip in the complimentary shuttle to Kamala Market for a taste of local shopping and street eats, or dare to venture for a city adventure in Patong – if only for one night – where Bangla Road offers a ‘lively’ party crowd and entertaining people watching.
Paresa also offers island-hopping, elephant trekking, and charter trips on its yacht, with breathtaking sunset spots at the Big Buddha and Promthep Cape, ensuring guests have a memorable time.
Paresa indulges guests with gourmet dining, a full-service spa, a well-curated library, and a modern gym, showcasing its dedication to luxury. Yet, it’s the philosophy of simplicity and the connection with nature that defines this exquisite experience.
