OUTRIGGER KOH SAMUI – ULTIMATE BEACHFRONT LUXURY AT LAMAI BEACH
Lamai Beach on Koh Samui is undoubtedly one of the island’s finest. With its turquoise waters, towering palm trees, and soft sand, it creates a picture-perfect scene. Stretching approximately four kilometres, this pristine sandy beach is ideal for leisurely seaside strolls.
The Perfect Stay at Outrigger Koh Samui
During our first visit to an Outrigger resort, we were delighted by the experience. The decor and interiors of this colonial-style split resort harmonise beautifully with the natural surroundings. Blue and white accents, inspired by the sea and sky, complement the contemporary rattan furnishings that pay homage to Thai traditions. The overall ambiance makes it a truly beautiful place to relax and unwind.
Stylish Rooms with a Touch of Local Charm
The 146 rooms and suites are designed to provide comfort and luxury while incorporating elements of local Thai culture. The accommodations include rooms with garden views, ground floor rooms with private terraces, and larger suites, each meticulously decorated with contemporary furnishings and traditional Thai accents. The rooms are designed to be spacious and airy, with large windows that allow natural light to flood in.
Club Lamai Suite – A Luxurious Retreat
Our first-floor Club Lamai Suite comes with three Juliet-style balconies, just enough space to pop out and look around, but not quite enough to sit with a coffee. The suite also has a large seating area with a corner sofa that can be closed off from the bedroom or left open plan. It’s perfectly appointed and a great size, especially for our three-night stay. Rooms come equipped with all modern amenities, including high-speed internet, flat-screen TVs, and plush bedding, ensuring guests have a restful stay.
Exploring Lamai Beach and Beyond
Nestled on the idyllic shores of Lamai Beach, the split resort includes the main colonial-style hotel on one-half of the main road that cuts through Lamai. Across the road, the Edgewater Beach area offers a large pool right on the peaceful Lamai Beach.
Lamai Beach is one of Samui’s most beloved destinations, known for its clear blue waters, soft sandy shores, and vibrant atmosphere. The area is bustling with shops, restaurants, and bars, offering plenty of opportunities for exploration and entertainment. Visitors can take a stroll along the beach, explore the local markets, or indulge in a traditional Thai massage at one of the many spas in the area.
Culinary Delights at Outrigger Koh Samui
The Edgewater Beach Club is a relaxed beachfront dining venue offering a diverse menu that showcases both international and local Thai cuisine, crafted from the freshest ingredients. Stone oven pizzas, perfectly grilled steaks, fresh locally caught seafood, and crisp salads are available, and you can watch the lively action in the open kitchen as chefs prepare dishes in front of guests.
During the late afternoon, there’s a 2-4-1 cocktail offer, and in case you forget, the resort’s handy app that you are encouraged to download on check-in will remind you it is time to order. Live music and local fire dancers provide good entertainment during dinner times after the sun has set and makes for a lively atmosphere.
Breakfast at Male Kitchen
For breakfast, there’s a buffet at Male Kitchen where the lovely (and patient) staff will whip you up eggs of your choice. When it is busy, it might take a while for some of the items to get refreshed, but arriving a bit earlier in the morning solves that issue.
Voyager 47 Club Lounge
If you are lucky enough to have chosen one of the club suites, then access to the excellent Voyager 47 Club Lounge is definitely worth planning your day around. We didn’t miss a single day of the ‘Evening Cocktails and Chef’s Tasting Platter’ hour that happens between 5:30 and 6:30 pm. The staff remembered our names from the first day and made sure we tried their range of signature cocktails – including a very spicy Thai-inspired drink that had us going back for (too many) more.
Leisure and Relaxation at Outrigger Koh Samui
The resort’s amenities are designed to offer the ultimate in leisure and relaxation, so you won’t be bombarded with too many activities. There’s a spa, morning yoga, and meditation to choose from, or for something more energetic, Muay Thai boxing classes. For kids and families, the resort also has laser tag where you can buy half or full-day tickets. Our preference was lounging by the pool and taking our exercise by walking along the soft sands of Lamai Beach.
Experience Koh Samui’s Soulful Charm
Ideal for couples or families in search of sunny adventures, this contemporary resort showcases Outrigger’s renowned hospitality in the heart of soulful Koh Samui. We can’t wait to re-book.
Rooms at Outrigger Koh Samui start from 3413 THB (£75) per night, excluding taxes and fees.
