OD CAN JAUME IBIZA OPENS NEW VILLAS
This summer rural boutique hotel, OD Can Jaume opened nine brand new villas. Each elegantly designed suite is two-storey and stand-alone, comprising a bedroom, lounge, bathroom, private terrace and a rooftop terrace with Jacuzzi and space to sunbathe.
Surrounded by orange groves and palm trees, the hotel feels completely off-the-beaten-track but is just 2km from Ibiza’s Old Town. Local influences feature in the decor of the new villas, which is in line with that of OD Hotels; minimalist but with rural touches to connect the hotel to its location.
Once again the design is by the architectural studio of Victor Rahola and interior designer Mayte Matutes, who focused on creating contemporary, luminous spaces with clean lines that still feel like they have warmth and soul. The villas are inspired by the traditional Ibizan ‘payesa’ house which makes the most of the space available with interconnecting rooms and no wasted space with corridors.
As with all OD Hotels, OD Can Jaume is focused on offering guests unique experiences that offer a taste of Ibizan life, which includes the weekly organic food market; La Huerta. Every Saturday in the palm and orange tree-filled grounds, there are food stalls, fresh juices, cocktails and organic wine, all accompanied by live music, as well as a kids area.
Days can be spent enjoying absolute relaxation at the pool lined with loungers and Balinese cabana beds, with in-room wellness treatments, or the hotel can arrange private yoga sessions. For those wanting to explore the island, bicycles are free to hire, horse-riding can be arranged and the nearest beach is just 10 minutes’ drive.
The hotel also has 15 existing rooms and villas which respect the original character of the 19th-century Ibizan manor house in which they are set. Each has its own terrace or balcony and combines a laidback local style of terracotta tiles with neutral walls and accents in warm Mediterranean colours.
Like OD Hotels’ other Ibiza hotels, breakfast is served until a leisurely 12pm and includes produce from their farm and freshly squeezed juice from the orange trees. Dining during the rest of the day is a relaxed affair with the restaurant only open to hotel guests and serving dishes using fresh local ingredients.
The new villas start from 350€ (£300) per night including taxes and breakfast.
