MY VALENCIA WITH CACHETEJACK
Cachetejack are an artist/illustration duo with a seriously funny sense of humour that have been working together for five years. Both 27 they travel throughout Europe with their work but it is Valencia in Spain that they call home. We asked them to tell us about their favourite places in the sunny city.
What would be your perfect day in your city?
Almost everyday is sunny in Valencia. It’s really nice drinking a coffee outside while the sun shines strong! Valencia has a great beach, sun and good food but if you come in summer to enjoy all this you will probably melt due to the intensive hot weather!!
What’s the best music venue and why?
Jimmy Glass Jazz Bar because almost every night there is something interesting!
The best hidden secret / undiscovered gem about the City?
There is a great park called Gulliver (the giant), it’s super great!!
What is your favourite bars?
There are so many nice nice bars like Monterey and Leipzig. The best areas to go for a drink are Ruzafa and El Carmen.
Favourite coffee shop?
Lisboa cafe has always a sunny terrace to enjoy.
Favourite clothes?
Our favourite shop is Needles and Pins because you can find the best sweaters.
Favourite cultural event?
The Tenderete Illustration Festival that takes place two times per year.
What local bands are doing it for you at the moment?
Cuello, Don Rogelio and Las Rodilleras.
Favourite neighbourhood?
El Carmen; it’s located next to the city centre and still has this unique local environment when you go to the market or have a walk in the streets. On Sundays there is a big flea market that you can’t miss.
Where do you head for a late night drink?
El Rincón Latino is the place for a great mojito and dancing.
