The Main House remains the hotel’s centerpiece, around which footpaths lead to only 47 suites and 4 villas where guests enjoy genuine privacy and top flight hospitality. Ideally situated far from huge resorts and the roar of pleasure boats, the immaculate bay of Xpu-Ha is a natural haven where each year sea turtles make their nests.

DINING
Dining at Hotel Esencia is at once a culinary voyage and a coming home. Meals are simple yet sophisticated, drawing as much from Mexico’s eclectic range of regional cuisines as from the well- loved comforts of Mediterranean cooking. Ingredients are sourced locally from farmers and artisans in Quintana Roo, or further afield from the places in Mexico known for exemplary delicacies—mole from Oaxaca, fruits from Yucatán, and wines from Baja.
The Speakeasy – This season Hotel Esencia unveiled a cozy bar hidden in the jungle, with its own secret entrance, featuring lavish interiors and a state of the art sound system, perfect for after dinner drinks or a night cap.
Taiyo – The poolside restaurant offers a Japanese dining concept with a Mexican twist, but rooted in classic Sushi tradition. Additional to a curated casual lunch and dinner menu, Taiyo features an Omakasé bar offering our guests an elevated and unique nightly dining experience, based on the freshest ingredients available and the chef’s suggestions.
Beefbar Esencia – A true epicurean experience thanks to a menu based on simplicity, the 000finest high- quality ingredients, and a selection of exceptional meat cuts from Australian Black Onyx and Wx Wagyu beef, and Certified Japanese Kobe beef. Simple, comfort food delicacies prepared to order in our open kitchen and brick oven. An international reference for all meat lovers since 2005, the Michelin star winning team has found a new home in the heart of our luscious Palm Garden.
Mistura Xpu-Ha – Located under a towering thatched-roof palapa, our beachfront restaurant offers, besides unparalleled majestic sea views, a creative selection of seafood dishes, specialties from the grill, and beloved comfort foods, with the best ingredients of Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula and beyond – a refined and authentic Mexican dining experience with a Mediterranean touch.
The Coffee and Juice Bar @ Mistura – Coffee lovers can find a wide selection of coffee beans from different regions in Mexico as well as renowned international brands. All coffee beverages are prepared with freshly ground beans and brewed on demand.The Juice Bar menu offers a delicious selection of freshly squeezed juices, smoothies made to order, and popular superfood bowls.
The Beach Bar – Located in a two-storey beachfront palapa, where guests can savour creative signature cocktails while enjoying the warm sea breeze and the best views in the hotel.
THE ESENCIA MANSION
One of the most grand private villas in the Riviera Maya. This new 10,000 sq ft., four-bedroom villa, with three swimming pools, was designed to be immersed in nature, providing the ultimate in privacy and seclusion, yet less than a five minute walk to the beach, restaurants, spa, gym, and all hotel facilities. Our helicopter landing pad and private tennis court are just a few steps away.

The master suite on the entire third level features a light-drenched bedroom connecting to a grand master bathroom with shower room and oversize bath tub, double sinks, and indoor/outdoor plunge pool. An adjacent private fitness studio features state of the art equipment such as The Mirror, an elite Woodway treadmill and award-winning Pent Fitness weights sets.
The master suite’s salon includes a private adjacent office, and a spectacular covered terrace with comfortable seating. The towering rooftop terrace offers a glorious 360 degree view of the jungle tree tops and the sea, another large pool, a covered terrace perfect for entertaining up to 20 guests, and sun beds.
Two junior suites come with complete with private outdoor terraces, ensuite bathrooms with double sinks, shower rooms and bathtubs, walk in closets, and a studio lounge for reading or relaxing.
A fourth bedroom with ensuite bathroom is perfect for one or two children, a nanny, or a 24hr butler on demand. The luxurious eat-in kitchen features state of the art appliances such as a classic enameled Lacanche oven, where a private chef or even our guests can create delightful meals. A breakfast terrace, an adjacent hidden staff kitchen, stock room, and a wine fridge cellar are also featured.
The connecting main living room with its generous proportions is the heart of the villa, featuring a wet bar and an adjacent intimate lounge. This main salon opens to a spectacular dining terrace overlooking the large family pool a few steps below.
The pool is one of its kind and a work of art in itself with its ceramic tiles designed by the artist Marcel Dzama. It is lined on one side by comfortable sun beds and umbrellas, and on the other by a thatched palapa for shaded lounging.
A private screening room with comfortable seating for 20 guests will surprise and delight even the most discerning traveler – featuring the latest in audiovisual technology and a bar; perfect for a cinema night with family and friends.
ACTIVITIES
Situated squarely between Tulum and Playa del Carmen, Mayan archaeological sites, underground cenotes and some of the Riviera’s best nightclubs, all are only 20 minutes away. For an adventure only steps off the hotel’s beach, there is a reef sanctuary for sea turtles and colorful exotic fish – one of the region’s best kept secrets. A concierge is at your service to arrange a multitude of activities from scuba diving, horseback riding, deep-sea fishing, and golf as well as excursions to Mayan ruins and guided tours of underground rivers locally referred to as ‘cenotes’.
The Hotel even offer guests an in-house private helicopter service, directly from Cancún airport to the property, and also private tours around the Yucatán peninsula.’
