YAYOI KUSAMA: 1945 TO NOW, M+ (NOW – 14TH MAY 2023)
Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now is a new retrospective of the famed contemporary artist. Recognised for her vibrant colours and polka dot patterns, the exhibition features more than 200 of Kusama’s works including paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations. Visitors can learn more about her ground-breaking career and avant-garde vision. Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now is on display at M+, Hong Kong’s museum of visual culture, which opened last year.

ODYSSEYS OF ART: MASTERPIECES COLLECTED BY THE PRINCES OF LIECHTENSTEIN, HONG KONG PALACE MUSEUM (NOW – 20TH FEBRUARY 2023)
Odysseys of Art: Masterpieces Collected by the Princes of Liechtenstein is the Hong Kong Palace Museum’s first major special exhibition since its opening in July. Featuring 120 masterpieces from the Liechtenstein Princely Collections, a private collection belonging to the Princes of Liechtenstein, the exhibition will display paintings by notable, 17th century artists including Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony van Dyck. The collection is ranked one of the largest and most important art collections in the world.

SAI KUNG HOI ARTS FESTIVAL (2022 – 2024)
The Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival is a three-year public art project taking place across Hong Kong. The first instalment is from now until 15th January 2023, where there’s nine unique pieces of local artwork to view on Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island under the theme of ‘joy again, isle.’ There are various talks and tours taking place so visitors can immerse themselves in the experience and learn about the inspiration behind each piece. HONG KONG ARTS FESTIVAL (16TH FEBRUARY – 19TH MARCH 2023)
Now in its 51st year, the Hong Kong Arts Festival is one of the biggest celebrations of art, music and culture in the city. The diverse events programme kicks off at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre with the Ballet of Slovene National Theatre Maribor’s performance of Radio and Juliet & Le Sacre du Printemps. Throughout the programme, visitors can enjoy opera, theatre, dance and music as well as talks and educational events.

WEST KOWLOON CULTURAL DISTRICT
The West Kowloon Cultural District is Hong Kong’s arts and cultural hub, home to notable venues and museums including the Hong Kong Palace Museum, M+, Freespace and the Xiqu Centre opera house. Visitors can easily spend a full day soaking up the many exhibitions and events taking place across each space. The Cultural District also has an Art Park, where visitors can relax on the lawn or stroll along the promenade by the water. There’s even space for open-air performances in the warmer months.

OLD TOWN CENTRAL
At the heart of Hong Kong’s central district is Old Town Central, full of interesting urban art and rich culture. Hidden artistic gems and historic architecture await travellers that wander its streets. Highlights of Old Town Central include H Queen’s, home to contemporary art galleries and restaurants, and the Man Mo Temple, a traditional temple built more than 150 years ago.
