GENERATOR OPENS NEW PROPERTY IN MADRID’S CITY CENTRE
Our favourite design-led hostel brand Generator opens its doors in Madrid. Located in the heart of the city, near to the busy Gran Vía and a few steps from the Puerta del Sol, Generator is the latest Madrid city centre hot-spot. Offering large design-led social spaces, fresh and funky food menus, stylistic, contemporary interior design, it appeals to the hearts of travellers and the local madrileños alike.
Situated in the heart of Madrid – and with a rooftop terrace, stylistic bar area and lounge-restaurant – the new hostel will be the perfect spot for travellers and locals to experience the city and become immersed in Generator’s offering.

This new opening is the thirteenth property Generator will have in Europe and the second in Spain, which adds to its portfolio of locations in the cities of London, Dublin, Barcelona, Paris, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Venice, Rome, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Berlin (Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg).

The Generator Madrid features:
lounge-restaurant where two distinct styles merge. On the one hand, the industrial aesthetic characteristic of Generator Madrid, which reveals the metallic structure of the building. On the other hand, impressive decorative design elements. We find large leather armchairs, sofas and chairs with vintage aesthetics. This space will host locals and travellers for breakfast, brunch or a fun after work. Its large windows lookout over the bustling busy city scape outside.
A stylistic bar area where a selection of cocktails, food and live music awaits guests. The first thing that draws a visitor’s attention to this space is the beautiful room size mural painted across the wall of tiles, named Urban Odyssey for its depiction of the Madrid city life.
A rooftop, with two terraces from where guests can enjoy the stunning views of Madrid. Each with different uses; one with two Jacuzzis and lounge areas with a bar, serving a small food menu as well as the same stylistic and contemporary cocktails as the downstairs bar. And another terrace, more private and elevated, available for private events.
A bright lobby, with a large skylight that brings warmth to the space. It is accompanied by a Tamara Arroyo sculpture created with worked-through metallic neon lights that perfectly illuminates the space.
129 rooms and 542 beds. Of the total number of rooms, 51 are private, double and family rooms and the remaining 78 are shared rooms. The family rooms have a double bed and “secret in-wall” folding bunk beds, which when folded leave the room free allowing for a comfortable space for parents and children. The thick retro-inspired doors isolate and protect from all exterior noise. The party rooms, located on the roof terrace and a few steps from the Jacuzzis are designed for clients who prefer to be closer to the party and enjoy the wonderful views of Madrid.
