Cartier’s latest boutique in Chicago showcases a stunning blend of luxury and craftsmanship, thanks to the collaboration with Ateliers Lison de Caunes. Enlisted by the renowned Moinard Bétaille agency, Atelier Lison de Caunes has created an exquisite straw marquetry décor that epitomises contemporary elegance and artistic finesse.
Straw Marquetry Masterpiece:
For the decoration of Cartier’s new Chicago boutique, Ateliers Lison de Caunes crafted two large, curved panels. These panels feature a sophisticated herringbone pattern, worked in a subtle gradient. The intricate design employs alternating colors, ranging from gold to rich reds, and a palette of blues and greens. This creates a dynamic visual experience that gives the boutique a unique and refined dimension.
Exhibition on the First Floor:
Visitors to Cartier’s Chicago boutique can admire these new creations on the first floor. The rounded shapes and vibrant color transitions of the panels add a distinct character to the space, enhancing the luxurious ambiance of the store.

This isn’t the first collaboration between Ateliers Lison de Caunes and Cartier. The workshops have previously worked on several high-profile projects for the luxury brand, including the renovation of Cartier’s historic boutique at 13, rue de la Paix in Paris, and the opening of its boutique in Geneva. In each project, the straw marquetry provides a signature touch that reinforces the singular character and elegance of Cartier.
