An international event fusing Balearic and Liverpool culture
INNSiDE Liverpool, a stylish hotel that is part of the Meliá Hotels International family, is proud to announce Live For The Arts Culture beyond limits, Mallorca to Liverpool an exciting new event that promises to showcase the very best of cultural exchange. Live For The Arts is a touring spectacle that brings together artists, musicians, writers, and chefs from around the world to explore the connections between different cultures.
With roots in the beautiful island of Mallorca, this unique event has already visited New York and Leipzig, and is now set to arrive in Liverpool on Saturday 17th June. The event is completely free to attend, and will take place across multiple locations throughout the INNSiDE Liverpool hotel.
Live For The Arts draws inspiration from Liverpool’s most famous sons, The Beatles, and will explore the connections between this great city and the island of Mallorca. Visitors can expect a fantastic range of activities, including live music performances, poetry recitals, and art installations. There will also be a traditional gastronomic experience that explores the unique flavours of Mallorcan cuisine, with a live demonstration of the preparation of “Cocarroi”, one of the most traditional dishes in Balearic gastronomy.
Music lovers will be treated to a fantastic collaboration between LIPA musicians and Spanish artist Luis Albert Segura, featuring a combination of original material and Beatles covers. Aina Zanoguera, one of Mallorca’s most unique voices, will also be on hand to perform traditional songs from the Mediterranean island.
Live For The Arts will pay tribute to the great British writer Robert Graves, who spent his final years on the island of Mallorca. Guests can expect a poetic recital and live painting demonstration in one of the hotel’s rooms.
Liverpool illustrator Jess Hanko and urban artist Paul Curtis will also be creating live art installations throughout the event, while a documentary screening and fascinating conversation about contemporary myths and The Beatles will round off the day’s events.
