CREATIVE SPACE: SIR ALBERT HOTEL AMSTERDAM
As home to one of the most vibrant start-up cultures, Amsterdam is a melting pot for creatives from around the world. Knowing this, Sir Albert Hotel has created a space for these inspired minds. Set in the lively De Pijp district, the hotel is already an established curator for an authentically local stay and with the opening of their Creative Space earlier this year, it is taking neighborhood integration one step further.
A Creative Stay
A perfect space for meetings, photo shoots, product launches and small gatherings, The Creative Space’s innovative design is a draw for locals and guests of the Dutch capital. Ideal for groups of up to 35, the mutli-purpose space can be used as a co-working space for hotel guests when not booked. Flooded by natural daylight, don’t expect a stuffy business room. Instead a Ping-Pong table and a corkboard wall get the creative juices flowing, and a chill-out area with sofas beckons – for productive relaxation of course!
Technically speaking, everything needed for a state-of-art meeting is supplied. A projector, flat screen with Apple TV are provided (to which a mobile phone, MacBook or iPod can be wirelessly connected), making video conferences and online presentations a breeze. Knowing that any good power brainstorming session needs fuel, Sir Albert stocks the SMEG fridge full with healthy drinks, snack bars, cookies and nibbles. For those seeking exotic inspirations, the IZAKAYA Asian Kitchen & Bar is only steps away.
About the Hotel
A one-time diamond factory, Sir Albert Hotel’s industrial past has been buffed by warm, welcoming interiors that allude to a sophisticated world traveler. Award winning architects from BK Architecture were responsible for the transformation, carefully preserving the high ceilings and large windows, and using sustainable and energy efficient technology in the process,
Set in the lively De Pijp district, the Latin Quarter of Amsterdam – a melting pot of diverse cuisines, hopping bars and a strong café culture – this aristocratic lair is more akin to a stay in a private city residence than a hotel. A modern aristocratic attitude prevails, where authentic and genuine service meets the latest in design and technology. A well-stocked library and pleasant fireplace greet guests of the 90-room boutique hotel, while the IZAKAYA Asian Kitchen & Bar with a private terrace offers sweeping views of the city. Italian furniture manufacturers Maxalto, Moroso and Ceccotti sit alongside limited edition works by standout Dutch designers such as Piet Hein Eek and Joy Erven.
