MARCEL KATZ WANTS US TO EXPERIENCE ART IN A DIFFERENT WAY
Art aficionado, Marcel Katz is presenting, The Art Plug Power House at Art Basel Miami. It’s a sensory playground that mixes art with a range of experience.
Miami-based curator and art world personality, Marcel Katz has announced his new conceptual platform, The Art Plug Power House, debuting Wednesday, December 5th during Miami Art Week 2018 (Art Basel Miami). Produced by Katz and bespoke art agency, The Art Plug, its first iteration titled “The Art Plug Power House” will feature 27 contemporary artists from across the globe, including the likes of Aholsniffsglue, Ketnipz, CB Hoyo, and Black Tape Project’s Joel Alvarez. Katz has hand-selected artists, from various creative disciplines, to join forces in converting a 30,000 square foot police-impound in Allapattah, into a multi-faceted space exhibiting sensory artworks and installations.
“We want people to let their sensory functions guide them through this fully immersive experience. We invite you to interact with and absorb everything you see, hear, taste, touch, and smell” says Marcel Katz.
The Art Plug Power House is a playground for experimentation, mixing different mediums of art and culture. The conceptual platform, powered by High Hemp, features over 30 interactive works and installations designed to heighten the senses to a whole new degree. The Art Plug Power House is Katz’ effort to disrupt the conventional way consumers engage with art.
The Art Plug Power House will kick off with an opening Vernissage on Wednesday, December 5th, and private viewing on Thursday, December 6th (by appointment only). Following the preview, the 2-day public exhibition will begin on Friday, December 7th through Saturday, December 8th featuring a number of live performances and special guests, as well as exclusive pop-ups and a private VIP lounge.
Single day tickets are $15/pp and multi-day tickets are $20/pp.
